New Big Mac sizes are made for customers who might want less or more

McDonald’s has been serving the Big Mac since 1967.

Big Macs just got a little better with the debut of two new Big Mac sizes to be released early next year. The menu extension of the 50-year-old McDonald’s classic will be offered nationwide for only a limited time.

The fast-food chain will offer a Mac Jr. and a Grand Mac: the Mac Jr. will be a single-layer Big Mac made to be easier to eat on the go, and the Grand Mac will have two all-beef patties and weigh a third of a pound, National Restaurant News reported.

Although the national debut is set for 2017, the new Big Macs will be available later this month at select locations in Florida and Pittsburgh.

“We listened to our customers, who told us they wanted different ways to enjoy the one-of-a-kind Big Mac taste,” McDonald’s chef Mike Haracz said in a statement.

The new Big Mac sizes are only a few of the latest efforts of the McDonald’s Corporation to keep its momentum in the competitive fast-food industry. More than a year ago, the company introduced the successful all-day breakfast menu and it also plans to relocate its headquarters to Chicago from Oak Brook, Illinois.
